      <Abstract>BACKGROUND&#13;
&#13;
                Maternal health is the important indicator to for healthy child and it will indirectly help to decrease the infant death and maternal death. Government of India adopted the Reproductive, Maternal, New-born, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCH+A) framework in 2013, It essentially aims to address the major causes of mortality and morbidity among women and children. This framework also helps to understand the delays in accessing and utilizing health care services&#13;
&#13;
OBJECTIVES:&#13;
&#13;
&#13;
	To assess the knowledge, Attitude and Practice among ante natal and post-natal primi mothers related to maternal and child health programmes.&#13;
	To determine association between knowledge/attitude and practices among study participants.&#13;
&#13;
&#13;
METHODOLOGY&#13;
&#13;
              A cross sectional study on Knowledge, Attitude and Practice related to Maternal and Child Health Programmes among the antenatal and postnatal women in a tertiary care hospital, Chennai, this study was conducted among 250 Primi-gravida antenatal and post-natal women in a tertiary care from January 2023 to March 2023.&#13;
&#13;
RESULTS&#13;
&#13;
     In this study 76.4% of mothers had good knowledge regarding maternal health programmers and 84.3% had good attitude and good practices among them was 22.8%. There was significant association between attitude and practices score related to maternal and child health care programmes.&#13;
&#13;
&#13;
&#13;
RECOMMENDATION&#13;
&#13;
This study provides a subtle notion that concentrating on IEC / BCC could provide a better outcome in terms of improved attitude and practice of mothers towards the available maternal benefit schemes.&#13;
&#13;
LIMITATION&#13;
&#13;
This study was conducted at a tertiary care hospital and included only primi gravida mothers which might have been conducted at field level to better assess the attitude and practice of all mothers. Since this study results cannot be generalised to all mothers.</Abstract>
