      <Abstract>REZUMAT Senza?ia de balonare este experimentat? de mul?i pacien?i tineri, ceea ce poate antrena dup? sine disconfort ?i durere abdominal?. De?i în majoritatea cazurilor tabloul clinic sugereaz? mai degrab? o tulburare func?ional?, exist? situa?ii în care pot fi mascate probleme de s?n?tate mai grave. În ultimii ani a existat o cre?tere substan?ial? a prevalen?ei bolii celiace, iar mul?i pacien?i r?mân nediagnostica?i. Confirmarea diagnosticului pe baza testelor serologice ?i a rezultatului histopatologic trebuie efectuat? la pacientul aflat sub diet? care con?ine gluten. Atât diagnosticul, cât ?i monitorizarea bolii celiace sunt complexe ?i ar trebui s? fie efectuate de c?tre un medic de specialitate. Scopul acestei lucr?ri este de a prezenta gestionarea unui caz de boal? celiac? la o tân?r? student? cu tablou clinic sugestiv pentru dispepsie func?ional? ?i de a sublinia importan?a diagnosticului cât mai precoce la pacien?i paucisimptomatici, deoarece boala poate avea consecin?e negative asupra s?n?t??ii lor în viitor. ABSTRACT Stomach bloating is experienced by many young patients, which can lead to feelings of discomfort and pain. While there are instances when it would just be functional, there are cases when it would mean a more serious health problem. There has been a substantial increase in the prevalence of celiac disease over the last years and many patients remain undiagnosed. Diagnostic testing, including serology and biopsy, should be performed on a gluten-containing diet. The diagnosis and monitoring of celiac disease is complex and should be performed by a physician with special expertise. The pupose of this paper is to describe the management of celiac disease in a young female student presenting with symptoms suggestive of functional dyspepsia and to emphasize the idea that it is important to diagnose celiac disease in patients with a less clear clinical picture, because the disease may have negative health consequences in the future.</Abstract>
